EUFOR MISSION: An additional maneuvering unit of the Hungarian Army arrives in BiH
The Hungarian Defence Forces maneuvering unit held the "High Voltage" exercise as a preparation before departure to Bosnia and Herzegovina where it will participate in the EUFOR mission.
"In 2024, a maneuvering unit of the Hungarian Defence Forces will also participate in the structure of the multinational battalion EUFOR (ALTHEA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their main goal will be to carry out peacekeeping tasks, which range from the most basic patrols maintaining a presence until the tasks of crowd control are carried out," Major General Laszlo Sticz, a military trainee and the first Hungarian commander of the European Union's largest mission, was quoted as saying by media reports.
Hungarians will, among other things, provide primary medical protection of the international mission, air support, helicopter unit. They will have a fire group with patrol dogs, as well as logistical support and supply. In addition, it will have an additional maneuvering unit, a group of military order. A technical group with the ability to travel, extinguish fires and water treatment and chemical defense groups will provide support. In recent months, soldiers have participated in shooting and driving exercises, reconnaissance and and the fight to save lives within the framework of individual and unit vocational training.
