Improving the Bosnian Wikipedia through corrections, translations and new articles
The project to improve the Bosnian Wikipedia began with thorough preparations that included creating user profiles, researching and getting acquainted with the rules of writing on this platform. The first step of the work was focused on the correction of existing articles, where the employees corrected spelling and grammatical errors, updated outdated information and added new sources. In the first step, a total of 26 corrections were made, which significantly improved the quality of the articles.
After successfully completing the first step, the team moved on to the phase of translating the articles from English to Bosnian. A total of 20 articles from different fields have been translated. During this process, working with images, tables, templates, references, and text formatting was explored, which included working in "wiki code". This phase was realized in cooperation with the President of the Executive Council Zlatko Sahadžić, the President of the Association Mirsad Čaušević and Prof. Dr. Merima Čaušević, which ensured accuracy and expertise in the work.
In September, the third phase began – writing new articles. By agreement, biographies of Bosnian composers, ethnomusicologists and music pedagogues were selected for the topics of the new articles. Verified sources were used in the writing, including publicly published books and reliable online sources.
The work of the employees on this project represents a significant contribution to the development of the Bosnian Wikipedia, the enrichment of available knowledge and the preservation of the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their dedication, expertise and collaboration with relevant experts ensured that the results of this project remain a valuable resource for generations to come.
