"The United States will continue to hold accountable those who try to undermine BiH and its institutions," the U.S. Embassy in BiH said in a statement.
"Milorad Dodik's separatist rhetoric and his threats of secession from Bosnia and Herzegovina are dangerous and his destabilizing actions will have negative consequences not only for him, but also for all citizens of this country wherever they live. His rhetoric and actions are putting at risk the European perspective of BiH, its democracy and economy," the U.S. Embassy said in a statement. "The BiH Constitution is crystal clear - the entity does not have the constitutional authority to secede from BiH. The United States has been equally clear that BiH is a sovereign, united state, and we remain committed to its territorial integrity and multiethnic character. The United States will continue to hold accountable those who try to undermine BiH and its institutions and try to destabilize the country and the region.
The us positions on the statehood of BiH, as well as the concept of constituent peoples and others are known, but mr. Dodik's chauvinistic views and statements about his fellow citizens deserve a reaction. BiH is a multiethnic country inhabited by three constituent peoples - Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs and Others. They are all Europeans; they are all Bosnians and Herzegovinians; and they are all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the U.S. Embassy said in a statement.
