The Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton organized the signing of the contract for the award of scholarships for deficient professions in the school year 2023/2024.
Minister Naida Hota Muminović said at the press conference that "this is the third year in a row since the Ministry has been providing scholarships for all three grades of the third level of secondary education." She emphasized that this program includes a total of 335 students, and the value of the individual scholarship is 1,300 KM and is paid one-time. She stated that in the last three years, more and more students with a better average are "enrolling in deficient occupations."
"This school year, one generation of students is coming out who have used this scholarship their entire education. Many of them already have a guaranteed practice with employers. These are already indicators that they have chosen the right list of professions and I hope that they will stay with their employers. We all face a staff deficit in many areas, it is not only a problem in BiH, it is a regional and a problem in the European Union, but through these measures we will try to attract students to enroll in professions that are deficient", said minister Hota Muminovic.
