An agreement on the recognition of qualifications was signed at the summit on the Western Balkans

At the Summit on the Western Balkans within the framework of the Berlin process, held in Tirana, the prime ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo signed the Agreement on the recognition of professional qualifications of nurses, veterinarians, pharmacists and midwives. In this way, diplomas for four new professions will be recognized in the region, since an agreement on the recognition of diplomas for dentists, architects and doctors of medicine was signed last year at the Berlin summit. The goal of the Berlin Process, founded in 2014 at the initiative of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is to connect the countries of the Western Balkans and the EU, while supporting the building of mutual ties. It serves as a platform for high-level cooperation between Albania, BiH, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia. The focus is on the creation of a common regional market, with about 18 million inhabitants, with the cooperation of the countries of the Western Balkans in the development of infrastructure, reducing unemployment and increasing the competitiveness of the economy.
